Enjoy the Freedom to Bead!

At this time last year, Blue Door Beads had only been open for a month, and all of us were completely, hopelessly deep in the honeymoon phase: all we wanted to do was spend every waking moment with the shop, whispering sweet nothings into its ear….OK, it wasn’t exactly like that, but everything was so fresh and new, we couldn’t help but get excited about every new customer, every new shipment of beads, and every new blog post.

But you know what’s great? We STILL feel that way! Even over a year later, we continue to love coming to work, spending time with our customers, helping them design fabulous jewelry, and growing both as a business and as a member of the beading community. As we said this time last year, we feel that the 4th of July — the anniversary of our country’s independence — is the perfect time to reflect upon how thankful we are to have the freedom to be a small, independent business in the good ol’ U. S. of A., to have the freedom to build a warm, creative environment for our customers, the freedom to express our creativity by making unique jewelry, and (added bonus) the freedom to have fun at work! We are thankful for all of these freedoms, and we cannot wait to spend many more years beading with you.

And now, some 4th-of-July-inspired jewelry for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
